Emily Golden, MFS, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Emily Golden is a postdoctoral fellow whose research focuses on the performance of computational tools to predict chemical skin and respiratory sensitization potential and their practical application in hazard assessment.  She earned her doctoral degree in Environmental Health from Johns Hopkins University in the Toxicology, Physiology, and Molecular Mechanisms track and earned a certificate in Risk Sciences and Public Policy from the same institution.  Dr. Golden also holds an M.F.S. in Forensic Toxicology from The George Washington University and a B.S. in Chemistry from Hope College.  Prior to earning her doctoral degree, she worked as a toxicologist performing hazard assessments using green chemistry-based paradigms to identify safer chemicals for use in consumer products. She also has experience as a raw materials chemist and process management specialist in the pharmaceutical industry.  She is passionate about advancing safer chemistries in consumer products and supporting the paradigm shift from animal-based approaches to New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), as well as increasing training and education that go along with both of these issues.
