Alexandra Yungblut

Alexandra Yungblut is a JD candidate at the Indiana University McKinney School of Law and is pursuing a graduate certificate in intellectual property law. She has a BS from the University of Alabama where she studied biology and chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry. She became interested in healthcare policy and ethical search practices during her two years of an MD/PhD program at the University of Toledo before she decided to pursue a JD instead. Alexandra has 8 years of benchtop and policy research experience across the many research sectors including academic, private, and governmental research. Her research has spanned from ecological and invasive species research to lipid biophysics to rare disease treatment discovery, but her interests have mostly been in oncological therapies and pharmaceuticals. Upon graduating from law school, Alexandra will be working in the pharmaceutical and biomedical patent legal space. She aims to use her research experience, passion for policy, and patent interests to improve the biomedical research ethics and pharmaceutical discovery spaces through the lens of improved research and patent fields.
